First Anniversary
Nico and I met at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. I was a nurse already on the Neurology/Trauma Unit and he was finishing up nursing school. (Fun fact: I actually was one of the nurses that was in on his interview panel, love at first sight for me!). Found out he was in a relationship already, so my dream of marrying this handsome man was on hold....for a while.
Our relationship was strictly professional. We really only saw each other in passing because I was mostly night shift and he was day shift. We really hit it off after both volunteering at the Epilepsy Camp summer 2014, (he and his twin had been volunteering for years prior but this was my first time).
I was elated seeing him with those kids! He was so patient and fun! He was the man everyone wanted to be around, including myself! From that day forward we were pretty much inseparable. We took the typical "couple" steps; I met his family, he met mine. We went on dates etc. We just clicked, from day one. The power couple.
Fast forward to today. Our first anniversary. It feels like we've been married for years, but at the same time how could it already be a year?! Gosh, I could go on and on about this man. But, I'll leave it at this: he's made me a better me. A stronger me. A more confident me. My life is better with him in it. I wouldn't change anything in my life because its brought me to this moment right here, and I'm so thankful for that. Cheers love, and happy anniversary.
